Justin R. “Dusty” Kehoe, 71, of Waterloo, IA, died Saturday, September 14, 2019, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1948, in Waterloo, the son of John J. and Eunice C. Connell Kehoe and graduated from Waterloo Columbus High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He married Rita A. Poyner December 20, 1975, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua. Dusty worked at John Deere for many years, starting as a forklift driver. He retired as a purchasing agent in 2000.
He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Dusty was a great bowler who had a 220 average and bowled several perfect games. He was in the city bowling hall of fame. Dusty was a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. He loved his country and was proud to have served, earning a Bronze Star for his service during Vietnam. He was a humble man who loved the Lord. Above all he loved his family, friends, grandchildren and his faithful dog, Maggie.
Dusty is survived by his wife, Rita; three sons, Heath (Sarah) Kehoe of North Liberty, IA, Joshua (Shelley) Kehoe of Johnston, IA, and Brent (Jacqui) Kehoe of Geneseo, IL; eight grandchildren, Regan and Bradlea Kerr, Zach and Alex Kehoe, Chase and Kaelly Danielson, and Claire and Cedric Kehoe; two brothers, Jerome (Pauline) Kehoe of Waterloo‚ and Joseph (Cathy) Kehoe of Eau Claire, WI; two sisters, Monica (Jim) Artes of Fort Myers, FL, and Melanie Jensen of Chandler‚ AZ; sister in law, Nancy Kehoe; and his beloved companion, Maggie.
Dusty’s sister, Peggy McKinstry, died on Sunday, September 15, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and John Kehoe; and his sister and brother in law, Carmen and Mark Skyles.
