Judy Kay Dawson

Judy Dawson, 75, of Waterloo, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 7:16 p.m. surrounded by her family at Cedar Valley Hospice Home. Judy was born on June 19, 1948, to Duane and Helen (Westendorf) McClain.

Judy graduated from Orange High School in 1966. She worked for Black Hawk Rental as a bookkeeper. Judy was a housing parent for the Waterloo Black Hawks and Waterloo Bucks. She loved to crochet, quilt, and being with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, David Stewart; father, Duane McClain; and sister, Dixie Wood.

Judy is survived by her mother, Helen McClain of Vinton; brothers, Jimmy McClain of Waterloo, and Leon (Pauline) McClain of La Porte City; sisters, Carol (Chris) Kremer and Sharon McClain both of La Porte City, and Donna (Charlie) Holt of Waterloo; stepdaughters, Sherri (Troy) Bissonnette, and Nicole Dawson; and nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. Private burial was held at Garden of Memories Cemetery-Waterloo.
