Josie Alida Pryor was born in Westby, Wisconsin on June 30, 1921, the daughter of Iver and Olina Lonnbaucken Oium. She was married to Nolan H. Pryor in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on November 20, 1943. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before Nolan passed away in May of 2009.

Josie loved life to the fullest always making the best of everyday. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother as well as a great-grandmother. Josie was an avid admirer of the outdoors and all of God’s beautiful creations. Josie and Nolan retired to their summer cottage at Frenchman’s Landing near Prairie Du Chein, Wisconsin, sharing outings with family and friends during the summer and wintering in Arizona.

Josie is survived by two sons: Nolan H. Pryor, Jr., and Allen Pryor and his wife Cathy of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Lynn, Julie, LeRoy, Crystal, and Bryan; eight great grandchildren: Joe, Jake, Ashley, Talor, Alex, Tanner, Bailey, and Gavin. She is also survived by a sister Rosene Lee. Josie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and five sisters.

Josie passed away at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home on Monday, January 17, 2011 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
