John C. Sulentic, age 64, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born December 22, 1948 in Waterloo, the son of John J. and Marjorie Reams Sulentic. John graduated from Columbus High School. He married Jeri Sulentic on December 1, 1972 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Waterloo and they were later divorced. They reunited in May 2012. John was a Veteran of the US Army.

John was a metal worker at Waterloo Industries and other area machine shops. He loved local dirt track stock car racing.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri of Waterloo; 2 sons, Matthew (Betsy Winter) Sulentic of Cedar Rapids and Lucas (Maria Schreiber) Sulentic of Algona; a grandson, Peyton Sulentic of Algona; a brother, Jack Sulentic of Grenada, Spain; a sister, Cheryl Sulentic of Waterloo and a half brother, Howard Earl (Bev) Allen of Evansdale.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and his best friend, Danny Kaumans.
