John Anthony Sadler, 42, of Waterloo, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

He was born May 1, 1981, in Waterloo, son of Michael L. and Mary J. (Shock) Sadler. He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1999 and went on to obtain a CDL from Hawkeye Community College.

He worked at Walmart for many years as a third shift shelf stocker.

He enjoyed watching anime and playing video games. He also like bowling and played in several leagues over the years.

John is survived by his parents, Michael and Mary (Julie) Sadler of Waterloo; his four siblings, Chris Sadler of Waterloo, Theresa Sadler of Waterloo, Amanda Sadler of Mason City, and Daniel Sadler of Cedar Falls; two nieces, Sage and Luna Sadler of La Porte City; his significant other, Essie Cooper of Waterloo; and his daughter, Elyssa Cooper of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; an infant sister, Jessie Lee Sadler; a cousin, Naomi Sadler; and an uncle, Gary Shock.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo. Visitation for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
