Jim Lee Saddoris, 73, of Waterloo, IA, died at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital on Friday January 15, 2016, of complications of a lengthy illness.

Jim was born on October 3, 1942 in Centerville, IA, the son of Paul and Myrtle (Ward) Saddoris.

He graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1960. Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War (1963-1967), receiving an honorable discharge.

Jim married Sharon Storlie on June 17, 1978 at Grace Lutheran Church. He worked in shipping/receiving at John Deere for 30 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and he and his wife facilitated the Tough Love Group in the local area.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Jennifer Saddoris of Waterloo; son, James (Pam) Gonzales of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Austin, Courtney, Ally, Josie, and Jordan; one great-grandchild, Bentley; and two brothers: Charles (Sheryl) Saddoris of Surprise, AZ and Tommie (Cindy) Saddoris of Grundy Center, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
