Jerry D. Deloy Lafferty, Sr. Sr.

Jerry Deloy Lafferty, Sr., 81, of Waterloo, died at Ravenwood Specialty Care on Monday, February 20, 2023.

He was born August 30, 1941, in Moark, Arkansas, the son of Ashiel and Dewanda Quigley Lafferty.

He married Barbara Helen Markunas in 1957; she preceded him in death in 2008. He then married Mary Deann (Blake) Downs in June of 2015; she preceded him in death on September 4, 2022.

Jerry worked as a salesman most of his life. He was proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge. His faith in the Lord was important to him.

Left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Kim (Kelley) Farrar of Ames; a stepdaughter, Dana Smith-Katz of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Nathan Farrar and Sean (Sarah) Farrar all of Ames; two step-grandsons, Trevor and Jason Katz; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; a son, Jerry Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.

Jerry's wishes were to be cremated, and no services held at this time.
