Jennifer E. Watson, 62, of Waterloo, died at Covenant Medical Center Monday, November 23, 2009, of complications from a fall.

Jennifer Elane Hess was born October 14, 1947 in Waterloo, the daughter of Francis R. and Velma Tegtmeier Hess.

She married Charles Watson on December 27, 1968 at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1965, received her Bachelors degree in Spanish from UNI in 1970 and then continued her education finishing her Masters in History in 1978. Jenny worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. and the National Bank before her position as UNI’s Athletic Finance Administrator since 1990.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church participating in the Bell Choir and Altar Guild; Friends of the Library; Cedar Valley African Violet Society; Canvas Stitchers; Needlepoint Guild; and served as Vice President (2000-02), Embroiders Guild of America-Prairie Rose Chapter.

Jenny is survived by her husband Charlie; sons Josh and Nathan (Katharine) Watson; and grandchildren: Jade, Jasmine, and Alexander, all of Waterloo. Also by her sisters: Pamela Kiefer of Waterloo, Jalane Terhune of Davenport, Gretchen (Alan) Reagan of Bettendorf, and brother Randal Hess of Waterloo, and her puppy McTavish. She is preceded by her parents and brother Spencer Hess.
