Jeannie R. Renae Schmidt

Jeannie R. Schmidt, 70 of Sumner, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at MercyOne Waterloo. She was born October 20, 1953, in San Francisco, CA, daughter of Dewey and Mary (Jensen) Stillions. Jeannie graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1972.

She married Russ Schmidt on July 7, 1995, at the River Ranch Campground in Nashua. Jeannie was a homemaker in her home for most of her life. One of her favorite activities was camping with the family.

Jeannie is survived by her husband: Russ of Sumner; her children: David (Jessica) Dana of Mason City, DJ Dana of Raleigh, NC, Seth (Sara) Dana of Fairbank, Chase (Andrea) Dana of Denver, Jamie (José) Lopez of Waterloo, Jennifer Schmidt of Marshfield, WI, Stephanie (John) Strodt of Lacrosse, WI, Matthew (Tish) Kiestling of Lacrosse; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, two sisters: LaDonne (Sue) Stough of Nashua and Marci (Burt) Peterson of Lake Mills; and two brothers: Brian (Jean)Stillions of Charles City and Doug Stillions of Fredericksburg.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Isabella; son, Jesse Schmidt and brother, Brad Stillions.

Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 21, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th St., Waterloo with visitation an hour before services.
