Jeanette Brasch, 85, of Waterloo, died Friday, Jan. 28, at Lakeview Landing.

She was born July 9, 1925, in Waterloo, daughter of J. Edward and Leone O’Dowd Entz. She married LeRoy Brasch Nov. 30, 1946, in Waterloo. He died June 9, 2008.

She graduated from Orange Township High School in 1943, and received a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State Teachers College in 1946. The couple farmed in the Hudson area. She was active in community and church, taught school, and served on the Black Hawk-Buchanan County School board, which was the forerunner of Area Education 267.

Survived by a son, Mikel Brasch of Hutchinson, Minn.; a daughter, Jeanne (John) Speas of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Daniel Brasch, Michelle Mangrich and Scott Mangrich; two brothers, Joe (Patty) Entz of Waterloo and John (Dorrene) Entz of Waterloo; and a sister, Margaret Brindley of Mason City.

Preceded in death by a sister, Julia Boyson.
