Jaunita L. King, 72, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at MercyOne Waterloo.
She was born October 7, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Mary Wilder and Lloyd D. Allen, Sr. She was a 1966 Waterloo East High School graduate.
Jaunita married John King on October 17, 1994; he preceded her in death on March 15, 2019.
She worked as a caregiver for the Western Home and previously for the Home Shopping Network. She was a member of Savior Missionary Baptist Church. Jaunita enjoyed attending church, cooking and visiting with family and friends. She loved rabbits and collected cows. She loved and treasured her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known for always helping people and being kind and giving.
Survived by her son, Ricky Dedrick of Waterloo; daughter, Arlene Dedrick of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Teyanna Dedrick, Kaelianna Larrew, and Christian Dedrick, three goddaughters, Sparkle Riley of Milwaukee, WI, Shabonna Greer of Detroit, MI, and niece, LaTasha Allen, of Milwaukee, WI; seven brothers, Lloyd (Teresa) Allen of Waterloo, Charles (Josie) Allen of Glendale, AZ, Reginald (Mattie) Allen, Donald Bogardus Allen, Larry Brown all of Waterloo, Terrance Baldwin of California, and Harvey Lee (Ida) Williams, Jr. of Milwaukee, WI; six sisters, Mary Wilder of Waterloo, Florence (John) Schoderberg, Carolyn (Bobby) Edwards both of Milwaukee, WI, Catherine Williams, Mildred Sounders both of Kansas City, MO, and Cheryl (James) Sanders of Oklahoma; godmother, Dorothy Love all of Waterloo; two god sisters, Bertha Wilder and Lisa Hesseling; and a special cousin, Joyce Allen of Kansas City, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special cousin, Joyce Allen of Kansas City, MO; and special friends Betty and Herb Thomas.
Preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Lloyd; father, Harvey Williams; and sisters, Diane Allen – Davis and Marian Sanders.
