Jasmine Marae Webber, 38, of Waterloo, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, surrounded by her family at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Known to all as Jaz, Jasmine was born on February 28, 1988, in Waterloo to Glenn Robinson and Chantrisse Smith. She married Tyler Webber on April 4th, 2017, and together they raised their beloved children, Lyric, and Tylir.

After graduating from Waterloo East High School in 2006, Jasmine held several jobs in Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines. She continued her education at Purdue Global, earning a degree in medical billing and coding in 2018. In 2021, she began working at VGM, where she remained until her passing. She also attended Hawkeye Community College and earned her CNA certification in 2026.

Jaz brought passion to every role she held-as a mother, wife, family member, friend, coworker, and fan. Loyal, honest, feisty, and never afraid to speak her mind, she was a devoted wife and mother who would do anything for Tyler, Tylir, and Lyric. She gave her whole heart to those she loved. Whether traveling to cheer on Lyric and Tylir in their sports, supporting her husband’s fishing and hunting outings, rooting for her “Trojan Nation,” or remaining a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan, Jaz’s enthusiasm was unmistakable.

Jaz’s private-eye instincts were unmatched. Whether using Mobile Patrol, searching Ancestry, or uncovering details about someone, nothing got past her-nothing!

Although a high school injury kept her from going pro in basketball-or so she claimed-her love for the game never faded. She watched as much college and WNBA basketball as she could.

Many also knew her as DJ Jaz-E, a gifted professional DJ whose passion for music was in her blood. A young soul with an old soul’s musical sensibility, she was incredible to watch behind the boards. Whenever DJ Jaz-E hosted an event, the crowd always wanted an encore.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dolores Smith, and John Hill; paternal grandparents, Dorothy Robinson, and Glen Phillips; and sister, TaTahneeka Holmes.

Jaz survived by her husband, Tyler Webber and their children, Lyric and Tylir Webber of Waterloo; father, Glen (Chris) Robinson of Fairfax, IA; mother, Chantrisse Smith of Phoenix, AZ; godparents, Kelvin (Franchetta) Holmes IA, bonus mom, Glenda Mabry of Waterloo; siblings, Farah Robinson of Waterloo, Dapre Jackson of Des Moines, Tamara Mosley of Detroit, MI, Tyler (Nicole) Hardin of Cedar Rapids, Trevor (Melissa Smith) Burges of Cedar Rapids, Creighton Robinson of Denver, IA, Michael Allen and JaKobe Allen both of Waterloo, Demarcus Allen of Atlanta, GA, Lekeysha Holmes of Waterloo, IA, Leteena Mabry of Nashville, TN, and Nate Ewell, Jr. of Waterloo; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends, including her truest friends, sisters, ride-or-dies, and cousins, Jasmyn Martin and Taria Mills; her bestie and UNI representative, Patrice Waters; Granny, Nikki Webber-whom Jaz called “the best mother-in-law”; cousins ,Torri Green and Felicia Robinson; uncles, Jeff and Scott; special friends, Tierra Matlock, Ashley Day, and Denesha Brown; grandparents, Larry (Delores) Hardin; aunts, Kia Smith and Deanna Commack; and all the “Bleacher Moms,” friends, and dedicated travel ball parents.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo.

Homegoing Service: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Payne Memorial AME Church, 1044 Mobile St., Waterloo. Burial to follow at Garden of Memories.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Webber Family.
