James "Jim" Grady, 59, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

He was born January 17, 1963, in Waterloo, son of Clyde R. and Barbara J. McClaren Grady. Jim graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1983. Jim served honorably in U.S. Army. He married Sandra Kucera on July 22, 1988, in Wapello.

Jim worked for Tyson Fresh Meat for over 30 years until his retirement this year. He loved spending time with family especially his grandchildren and dogs, Daisey and Abby. Jim also enjoyed cookouts, going to Perkins and Longhorn Steakhouse, and riding his motorcycle. He was always happy and had a great sense of humor. He was a hard working man who influenced many people.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Amber Grady, both of Waterloo; grandchildren, Kaydence and Michael; numerous extended family members; and his adopted Tyson Family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and brother, David Grady.

Funeral Services: 1:00 PM Friday, March 18 at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Military rites conducted by Iowa Army National Guard and Evansdale AMVETS Post#31. Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, March 17 at Locke at Tower Park. Memorials may be directed to the family.
