Jake S. Peterson, 23, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center on September 26, 2014, from complications of pneumonia.

Jake Stuart Peterson was born April 7, 1991, in Waterloo, son of Mark S. and Joyce D. DeBar Peterson.

He went to Expo High School in Waterloo and attended Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls. Jake worked as a DJ at a popular nightclub in the Cedar Valley. He enjoyed the outdoors spending his time fishing and hunting.

Jake is survived by his parents, Mark and Joyce Peterson of Cedar Falls.; his sister, Jessica Brandt and her husband Josh of Parkersburg, Iowa; two nephews, Abel and Jonathan Brandt; maternal grandmother, Elinor DeBar of Waterloo; paternal grandparents, Dale and Kay Peterson of Waterloo; and a large circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond DeBar.
