Irene Leach (Ragland) 87, was born November 12, 1920, in Lafayette, Tennessee, to the late Cecil and Fleeta (Krantz) Ragland.

She met Dale Leach while working for a company in Baltimore, Maryland. They married June 25, 1942, in Baltimore, later relocating to Waterloo, Iowa.

Irene was a member of the Central Christian Church. She was also a member of the Shrine Club and Eastern Star, the TTT Club, and other charitable organizations during her lifetime. Irene was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Terry Edwards, and previous to that for Dr. Marshal Davenport.

Of Irene’s many talents she probably is best remembered for her wonderful cooking for family and friends. She also spent time in her garden every year, canning food, and always had time for a host of activities. She and her late husband Dale enjoyed taking trips and visiting friends.

Irene is survived by her daughter Dana Sinram and her husband Brian, sisters Gloria Duran, Zelma Lee Wheeler, Anna Mae Haddock; and brother, Jerry Ragland. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale C. Leach, sisters, Olean Butler and Mary Frances Ragland; brothers Henry Ragland, Charles Ragland, and William E. Ragland.
