Ira Lee Boggs

Ira L. Boggs-Porter, 31, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021. He was born August 11, 1990, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ira L. and Katherine (Boggs) Porter.

Ira grew up in Waterloo, Iowa from the age of 2. He was a member of the Deliverance Temple Church of God in Christ. He had attended Hawkeye Community College and worked various jobs in the Cedar Valley.

Known as Ira… his favorite quote was… "I'm Ira!" He had a loving, free spirit that enjoyed life. He touched the hearts of many with his outgoing, fun personality. Ira was known to be the life of the party. He had a heart of gold and would give you his last dollar. He was a true friend to many.

Ira loved spending time with and caring for his twin brother, Jarvis; doing anything and everything for him. Those who knew Ira, knew that he also liked being with his kids and family. He was a party guy that loved to turn up.

He is survived by his parents; his children, I'Shanay, I'Zavion and Tallen; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Ewell; sisters: Tammy, Cynthia, Brenda, and his twin brother, Jarvis; extended family of a brother and sisters: Stephanie, Tammy, Tenille, Shamika, and Terrence; and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Ira is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Ira will be missed until we meet again.
