Herbert Beasley, 84, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Pinnacle Specialty Care. He was born November 27, 1941, in Waterloo one of six children of Cy and Emma (Short) Beasley.

Herbert proudly served in the US Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He then owned his own business, We Clean Janitorial Company. He was a proud Veteran and Republican.

Herb was spunky. He had a great sense of humor and was quick to tell a joke. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, softball, UNI volleyball, and the Hawkeyes. Rarely would he be seen without a baseball cap on, usually a Hawkeye hat. He also was a huge country western music fan with a huge record and CD collection and traveled numerous times to fan fairs in Nashville. Herb stayed on the go, between sporting events and concerts. He loved spending time with his family at gatherings.

He is survived by his brother, Chuck Beasley of Fallon NV, and sister Linda Marvin of Waterloo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Darlene Doud, Fern and her husband Chuck Baldwin, and Richard and his wife Joanna Beasley, sister-in-law Darlene Beasley and brother-in-law Lynn Marvin.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Locke at Tower Park with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Becker Chapman American Legion.
