Hazel J. Erdmann, 98, of Denver, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Denver Sunset Nursing Home.
She was born on June 19, 1926, in Mosinee, WI, daughter of Fred B. and Elizabeth Ganther Saunders. Hazel attended elementary school in Necedah, WI, and she graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1943. She married Harlan Bernard Erdmann on May 2, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1974. They spent most of their married lives in Evansdale and Denver.
Hazel worked in the administration office at Rath Packing Company for 3 years. She also sold Stanley Home Products from her home in Waterloo for 12 years, retiring in 1995. She loved spending her time traveling and fishing.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Peggy Kaleas of Denver, Diana DeGraffenried of Barnett, MO, Karen (C.R.) Wilson of Spickard, MO; one son, Reynold (Joyce) Erdmann of Washburn; daughter-in-law, Freda Erdmann of Big Fork, MT; 15 Grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; one son, Daryl Erdmann; three great-grandchildren, Dustin Smith, Pepper Erdmann, Brad Smith; two sons-in-law, Jerry Kaleas, and John DeGraffenried; sisters, Helen Miller, Elizabeth Erpelding, Grace Levendusky; and brothers, George, Charles, and Fred Saunders.
Funeral Services: 2:00 pm, Monday, February 17, 2025, at Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave., with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation for one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be directed to the family for a fund to be established. Condolences may be left at www.LockeFuneralServices.com.
