Graham David Towlerton

Graham David Towlerton, 45, of Waukee and formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, January 17, 2025, at Every Step Kavanaugh House in Des Moines. He was born on January 18, 1979, the son of Stephen Towlerton and Karen Bird. Graham graduated from Columbus High School and University of Phoenix. He was an Account Executive with The Palmer Group in Des Moines. Graham married Amanda Kaestner, and they later divorced. The couple was blessed with a son, Foster.

Graham was a wild man-the life of the party. He was an expert in impressions and thrived on making people laugh. Voted The Class Clown in high school, Graham had a quick wit. Yet he was an ordinary, humble man who had an enormous impact on the lives of the people he met. He would rather help someone else than ask for help himself.

Working for Palmer Group fit his skill set perfectly. He was a generous and genuine person-he knew no stranger and had an infectious personality. Graham was also a skillful athlete who tried nearly every sport before choosing hockey as his sport of choice. He loved fishing and playing golf and he was All City in Soccer while in high school.

His son, Foster, was his life and Graham loved his son more than anything and he thrived on watching Foster play sports. The best way to get Graham to smile was to involve Foster.

Graham is survived by his son, Foster Towlerton, of Waukee, father, Stephen (Connie) Towlerton of Waterloo, mother, Karen (Al) Hintz of Denver, IA, and sister, Courtney (Ryan) Berry of Broomfield, CO, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo with a visitation from 11:00 AM until service time.
