Garry L. Frost, 72, of Waterloo, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Thursday, May 31, 2007 from Post Operative Cardiac Complications.

He was born October 9, 1934 in Mason City, Iowa son of Maurice E. and Thelma Cory Frost.

Garry graduated from Mason City High School in 1952 and then attended Mason City Jr. College (NIACC).

He was a medic in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and then served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1962.

Garry married Judith A. “Judy” Martin on June 12, 1955 in Mason City at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

He worked for MetLife Insurance Co. for 10 years retiring in 1996. He also was past manager of Monroe Systems in Waterloo until its closing in 1984.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church where he was Past President, involved in the Men’s Breakfast, sang in the Choir, participated in Bell Choir and volunteered for Community Meals. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. He was a former member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Omaha where he was the Past President and served many other roles. Photography had also been a important hobby of his throughout life

Garry is survived by his wife Judy Frost of Waterloo, son Steven and his wife Starr of Oak Park Heights, Minnesota, and son Russell and his wife Lanette of Clive; four granddaughters: Rochelle, Julia, Laura and Janae Frost; brother Larry and his wife Mickie of Panama City, Florida; and special friend Melba Shank. He is preceded in death by his parents.
