Florence Maxine Combs

Florence M. "Peggy" Combs, 86, of Shell Rock, formerly of Janesville, died Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the Waverly Health Center. She was born December 27, 1935, in Decorah the daughter of John and Lucille Uhlenhake White.

She married Blair Combs in 1952, they were later divorced.

Peggy worked and retired as a Pastry Cook for Freeman's Café.

She enjoyed flowers, feeding the birds, and reading.

Survived by: three daughters, Cheryl Hursh of Parkersburg, Deb (Sam) Hepler of New Hartford, Lisa (Rich) Pilcher of Waverly; six grandchildren, Christina Brant of Parkersburg, Melissa Weekley of Waterloo, Jody Bardole of Hampton, Jesse (Missy) Hepler of Waterloo, Tim (Morgan) Combs of Waverly, Sarah Weipert of Waverly; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Nancy) White of Bluffton; and four sisters, Laura White of Des Moines, Eileen Bartlett of Michigan, Evelyn Kingsley of Ridgeway and Mary Ann Flynn of Bluffton.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a son-in-law, Nick Hursh; and a brother, Steven White.

Graveside Inurment will be held in the spring in the St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery in Bluffton.
