Erik Jon Gedusky, 31, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at home Thursday, April 7, 2016, from complications of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

He was born February 5, 1985, in Waterloo, son of John Gedusky and Cindy Yarrington.

Erik graduated from Waterloo West High School in 2003. He was involved in Cub Scouts and with the annual MDA Telethon for many years

He is survived by his parents, Cindy Yarrington (Todd) Moline of Waterloo, and John Gedusky of Oregon; siblings, Robyn Gedusky and Brandon Miller, both of Waterloo, and Bradley Gedusky and Danielle Gedusky, both of Oregon; stepsiblings, Jessie Moline, Josh (Whitney) Moline, Callie (Mark) Paar, Lindsay (Brett) Moline and Hannah (Curtis) Moline; maternal grandfather, Wayne A. Weber of Quasqueton; grandmothers, Mary Harting, of La Porte City, Donna Brandhorst of Nashua and Janet Gedusky of Oregon; nieces and nephews, Keaton, Kierra, Issak, Marlee and Olivia; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including Pam Yarrington and Andrew Johnson of Orlando, Florida; his stepfather, Randy (Cheryl) McGee of Melbourne; and his Godmother, Marci Kruger.

Erik was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert “Bob” Yarrington; maternal great-grandmother, Mabel Hartman Hay; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Mae Hay Weber; and paternal grandfather, Elwood “Woody” Gedusky.
