Elwanda “Ellie” A. Audene Shuger

Elwanda “Ellie” Audene Shuger, 72, of Allison and formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, while a resident of the Rehabilitation Center of Allison. Ellie was born on February 12, 1953, the daughter of Alvin Shuger and Ruth Nielsen Shuger. She was cared for by her mother until she was 25, at which time she went into a group home. Ellie never married.

Ellie loved life. She would giggle and tease her family and care givers. Ellie loved people and remembered the people she met. She loved music and insisted that the radio always was playing. Highlights for Ellie were going to McDonald’s for a hamburger, French fries, and a pop, and then receiving a bag of Milky Way candy bars for later.

Ellie is survived by her sister Debra Garrison and her significant other, Jerry Kley, of Arlington, MN; nephew Gary Garrison; 2 great nieces; and a great-great niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and niece Paula Olson.

Cremation care is being provided. No services are planned with inurnment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
