Edgar F. East

Edgar F. East, 92, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side.

Edgar was born on July 18, 1932, to Edgar T. and Violet C. (Kernahan) East in Panama. He married Elma M. Bailey on July 14, 1959, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Panama City, Panama. He worked as a radio announcer, electronics technician and later as a telecommunications engineer. He was a licensed and an avid HAM radio operator. Edgar loved all kinds of music and being with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Zina Vanessa East, and brother, Raymond C. East.

Edgar is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elma East of Cedar Falls; son, Edgar A. (Lindsey) East of Waterloo; daughter, Wilma East of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Vanessa, Samuel, Lucia, and Benjamin East of Waterloo; brother, David East of Atlanta, GA; sister in law, Lois East of Nassau, Bahamas; nephews, Raymond G. and Gian P. East; and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Locke on 4th. Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. at Locke on 4th. Burial will follow at Waterloo Cemetery.
