Dorine S. “Dolly” Ely, 76, of Eldora, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at Eldora Nursing and Rehab on Monday, May 2, 2011.

Dorine Sarah Ely was born April 26, 1935 in Waterloo, the daughter of George and Genevieve Perry Ely. She graduated from Orange High School.

She worked temporary jobs through the years but her main passion was breeding and training show dogs. She had a kennel at her home on Big Rock Road in Cedar Falls. Dolly especially adored the Alaskan Malamute breed.

Dolly is survived by her cousin Leland Perry of Rolla, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Timothy G. Meyers, and sister Virginia.
