Donald J. Hall, 78, of Waterloo, died at Covenant Medical Center on Thursday, November 27, 2008.

Donald was born July 14, 1930, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Charles and Mattie Houston Hall. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Don married Helen L. Dudley on October 18, 1950, in Chillicothe.

He worked from 1958 to 1995 for John Deere and was a member of the UAW.

Don enjoyed puttering in his garage as well as doing woodworking, spending time with family especially the grand and great grandchildren. He was very proud of his children. Don was friendly and could talk to just about anyone; he was well liked by everyone who knew him.

Don is survived by his wife Helen of Waterloo; son Douglas “Butch” and his wife Teresa of Brookings, South Dakota; son Rick and his wife Letty of Waterloo; son Vince and his wife Maggie of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; daughter Linda Hoefing and her husband Jim of Fort Dodge, Iowa; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and five brothers.
