Donald Duane Jennings

Donald Duane Jennings, 86, of Waterloo, Iowa passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids.

Duane was born on April 15, 1938, to John Donald and Ethel Cecilia (Bowen) Jennings in Arlington, IA.

Duane graduated from Arlington High School in 1956. After graduation, he hauled milk and sailed the Great Lakes. Duane married Mary Ann Akerson on July 29, 1967, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Waterloo, Iowa. During his marriage, he worked in the foundry at John Deere. He retired from John Deere after 30 years. Duane loved working and hunting in his woods with friends and family.

Duane is survived by his daughters, Angela Casey (John) of Lafayette, IN, and Laura Jennings (Chuck) of Cedar Rapids, IA; 7 grandchildren, Whitney (Joseph) Hunter, Austin (Maci) Bohnsack, Blake and Leah Bohnsack, Alysa Casey (Mulhim), Jenna and Ella Casey; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Jennings of Moline, IL, and Joyce (Ronald) Seedorff of Arlington; 2 nephews, Jeff Zaytow and Tony Seedorff; 2 nieces, Taniesha Dvoskin, and Alicia Seedorff.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents, John Donald and Ethel Cecilia (Bowen) Jennings and his wife Mary Ann Jennings.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. with a funeral service at 3:00 pm and a Burial following at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
