Donald B. Apling, 55 of Waterloo, died at Unity Point Health – Allen Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2014 of natural causes.

He was born October 10, 1958 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, son of Upton and Pearl Johnson Apling.

Don married Heidi L. Kentzelman May 16, 1988 in Waterloo.

He owned and operated his own drywall business for over 25 years.

Don loved the outdoors…fishing, camping, gardening and enjoyed staying at a cabin in Minnesota during the summer.

Don is survived by his wife: Heidi of Waterloo; two brothers: Mike (JoAnn) Apling of Janesville, Iowa and Jim Apling of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
