Didier “DJ” Bruno Bamford

Didier Bruno “DJ” Bamford, 71, of Waterloo, died on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at home. He born on August 21, 1954, in Saint Gaudens, France, the son of David and Claude (Fave) Bamford. He graduated from Central High School in 1973.

DJ married Roxzan Q. Prochaska July 5, 1974, at the Hagerman Baptist Church in Waterloo. He was a machinist at John Deere for 41 years, retiring in 2014.

He was a member of UAW Local 838 and ABATE of Iowa. DJ enjoyed riding his motorcycle, listening to music, fishing, camping, and being outdoors. Above all, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

DJ is survived by: wife, Roxzan of Waterloo; daughter, Sara (Jon) Heideman of Woodbury, MN; two sons, Justin (Marci) Bamford of Lakeville, MN, and Seth (Brittany) Bamford of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Taylor & Raina Heideman, Ian, Anna, & Alivia Bamford, and Sophia, Kase, & Clara Bamford; his mother, Claude Bamford; two brothers, David Bamford, and Charles (Jo) Bamford both of Waterloo; and two sisters, Muriel Bogatin of Tampa, FL and Karen (Paul) Calloway of Fort Wayne, IN; five nieces and three nephews.

DJ is preceded in death by father, David Bamford; and sister-in-law, Karen (Burroughs) Bamford.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, also in Waterloo.
