Dick  Eugene Pelton

Dick Eugene Pelton, 72, of Cedar Falls, passed away April 30, 2024. He was on May 4, 1951, in Waterloo, to Herbert and LaVelle (Watson) Pelton, Sr.

Dick graduated from West High School in 1969. Dick was a proud veteran and served in the United States Army prior to graduating from the University of Northern Iowa. He married Karen Majerus in 1975 and they later divorced-they were blessed with their son, Joe Pelton.

Dick was employed by UNI and later by GMAC retiring in 2001. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. He enjoyed bowling, biking, and spending time outdoors landscaping.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Herb Pelton Jr.; and niece, Amy Pelton.

Dick is survived by his son, Joe (Shiera) Pelton; granddaughter, Ariella Pelton all of Irvine, CA; brothers, Norman (Lynne) Watson of Waterloo and Jeff (Esther) Pelton of Raymond; sisters, Jane (Jim) Eilderts of Aplington and Susan (Chuck) Drew of Starke, FL; sister-in-law, Joyce Pelton of Waterloo; former wife and dear friend, Karen Schmitt; and many nieces and nephews.

Per Dick's request there will be no services.

Burial with military honors provided by the Department of Defense took place at Oakland Cemetery-Janesville, IA.
