Delmer D. Worple, 75, of Washburn, died at ManorCare Health Services on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 of cardiopulmonary disease.

He was born on June 14, 1932 in Elma, Iowa, the son of Daniel J. and Beatrice R. Murphy Worple.

Delmer married Jodeen Ranard on October 27, 1956; they later divorced.

He worked in the Cut and Trim Department at Rath Packing Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1985.

Delmer served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by three daughters: Brenda Knapp and her husband Don, Debbie Roney and her husband John, and Shirley Worple, all of Evansdale; six grandchildren: Paula Jo Roney, Jake Roney, Kristy Cassady, Brian Knapp, Darcy Knapp, and Jessica Worple; and four great-grandchildren: Dakota Knapp, Calliegh Cassady, Landon Cassady and Kylie Roney. Delmer is also survived by his sister Donna Torsrud and her husband Lester of Evansdale, six stepbrothers, six stepsisters, and his ex-wife Jodeen of Evansdale.

Delmer is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Joseph McGovern.
