Daryl E. Westcott, 92, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his home.

He was born February 25, 1930, in Wadena, son of Gerald E. and Ollie Thomas Westcott. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Daryl married Darlene R. Van Braklin on January 5, 1953 in Fayette; she preceded him in death on April 12, 1996. He worked for Rath Packing Company for 31 years until retiring in 1984. He later worked for IBP and retired in 1992 after two years.

Daryl was a member Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. He enjoyed spending his time at the at the river.

Daryl is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Hruska of Evansdale, and Gail (Bob) Sims of Guttenberg; one sister, Geri Davis of Wadena; and son-in-law, Terry Hruska of La Porte City.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene; longtime companion, Mercedes Duffy; son, Jackie Westcott; two brothers, Dean Westcott, and Dale Westcott; and one sister, Betty Kruger.

Memorial Services are 10:30 AM, Monday, March 13, 2023, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo. Inurnment to follow in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls with military rites provided by Evansdale Amvets Post #31 and Iowa Army National Guard. Memorials may be directed to the family.
