Darrell F. Crouse, 86, of Waterloo, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Fairbank, son of James and Gertie Ohl Crouse. He married Clarice E. Tibbals on May 9, 1948, in Chester. She died Dec. 29, 2011.

He graduated from Fairbank High School in 1944 and attended DeVries Electronics and TV School in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Crouse was a large appliance salesman for Sears and a Central High School custodian, retiring in 1990.

Survived by a daughter, Julie Kime of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Crouse; and three brothers, Glen, Lyle and Harold.
