Daniel Paul Campbell, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center. He was born November 6, 1943, in Houston, Texas, the son of Francis D. and Marian B. (Jacobs) Campbell.

He received his Bachelor's degree in Chinese language from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dan was a career Navy serviceman and retired in 1993.

He decided to live in Iowa, where his mother was born and raised. He was an expert in computers and often had 4 or 5 Apple computers in his home. His digital "tune" collection exceeded 100,000 and was just shy of the record. Dan was raised in Pittsburgh, Pa., and loved and lived for the Black and Gold teams, Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He was all things Pittsburgh, his home and love.

Dan was the oldest of seven children. Left to cherish his memories include his siblings, Thomas of Ft. Myers, Florida; James of Radcliff, Kentucky; Monica of Salem, Ohio; and Mary of St. George, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his sister Patricia and his brother Michael.

Dan's family would especially like to thank his special caregiver, Peggy Larson, who cared for him.

There will be no services. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
