Dale R. King, 86, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died at Cedar Falls Health Care Center on Friday, October 25, 2013, of natural causes.

Dale Robert King was born June 20, 1927, in Manilla, Iowa, son of Earl and Myrtle Iliff King.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

In 1950, Dale married Mary Dell Moschkau in Waterloo. They were later divorced.

He worked on the loin cutting line at Rath Meat Packing, retiring in 1985 after 35 years.

Dale was a member of Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Cedar Falls AMVETS.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, dancing and spending time with friends and family.

Dale is survived by his daughters: Julie Mikkelsen of Waterloo, Dalene Ransom of Cedar Falls and Joni Green of Waterloo; his son Dana and his wife Lisa of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren: Nicole Ransom, Chris Ransom, Luke (fiancée Cortney Barron) Mikkelsen, Holly Bolton, Travis Green, Zachary (fiancée Kelsey Connor) Green, Destiny Green, Austin (Karina) King, Hannah King and six great-grandchildren: Noah, Madissen and Layne Bolton, Haylee Ransom, and Keith and John King.

He was preceded in death by his brother Earl.
