Curtis Franklin Tomkins

Curtis F. Tomkins, 68, of Waterloo, died on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Pinnacle Specialty Care.

Curtis was born on January 25, 1957, in Waterloo, to Merle and Darlene (Griefnow) Tomkins. He attended Waterloo East High School and Cedar Falls High School. Curtis married Susan Jean Smith on November 25, 1977, in Waterloo. He worked as an industrial painter for CPM Roskamp for nearly 22 years prior to retiring in 2022. Prior to CPM, Curtis worked at CMC and Doerfer Engineering. Curtis loved hunting, fishing, time at his cabin and traveling with family, above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judith Mullan; and granddaughter, Klarissa Wildeboer-Tomkins.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Susan J. Tomkins; son, Curtis (Nicke) Tomkins; daughter, Christine Tomkins-Mullen; brother, John (Val) Tomkins of Iron River, WI; sister, Susan (Jack) Huebner of Lumberton, TX; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo.
