Colleen Adell (Power) Crow exited earthly life on Joy Drive quietly and peacefully at 5:51 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
She was born on March 13, 1931, to Ronald A. Power and Beulah (Rathbun), eldest child of three. (Ron and JoAnn, deceased) She was born and raised in the Methodist faith in East Waterloo. She graduated from East High School in 1949.
Colleen married her high school sweetheart Cecil (Wayne) Crow on April 20, 1952. Wayne was drafted into the Army, and after he was released in 1957, he and his brothers-in-law built the home on Joy Drive for her. It was completed in April 1958. In June they picked out their baby daughter Barb, and three years later adopted infant David. Colleen was involved in various community groups. Always proper, kind, and nurturing; never losing her faith.
Colleen leaves behind her daughter Barb of Waterloo; her grandchildren Master Chief Ian Jungling of Norfolk, VA and Zshanoune E. (Jana Jungling Qualls) Elliott of Waterloo; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her son David and husband Wayne.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 23, from 3:30 – 7:30 PM at Locke on 4th. A time of fellowship and refreshments will take place on Wednesday, May 24, from 11:30 – 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, 718 Clay Street, with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a written memory of Colleen for a scrapbook.
