Clara Buehler, 88, of Waterloo, formerly of Evansdale, died at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center on Saturday, July 7, 2007.

She was born August 12, 1918, in Bentley, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Mary Krol Treichel.

Clara graduated from San Diego Grossmont Union High School in 1936. She married Henry C. Buehler on October 16, 1936, in Waterloo. He died March 7, 1982.

Clara taught Sunday School and Bible School at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She was a past member and leader of “Ten Twigs” through Kings Daughters & Sons. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and reading. Clara was an excellent cook and her specialty was Lemon Meringue Pie.

Clara is survived by two sons: LeRoy “Pudge” and his wife Diane of Waterloo and Verne “Pink” and his wife Shirley of Marion; daughter-in-law Linda Buehler of Evansdale; eight grandchildren: Dan McCready and his wife Diana, Dale McCready and his wife Nancy, Emily Buehler, Brian Buehler and his wife Kerri, Brent Buehler and his wife Lindsay, Jeff Buehler, Nathan Buehler and his wife Carolina, and Natalie Kilbourne and her husband Kory; and nine great-grandchildren: David, Grant and Ashley McCready, Garrett McCready, Clayton and Elijah Buehler, Thomas Buehler, and Madison and Jenna Kilbourne.

She is preceded in death by infant daughter Carolyn Kay, daughter Florence McCready in 2000, and son John Buehler in 2003.
