Christine A Finley

Christine Annette Finley, 100, of Shell Rock, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at her daughter's home in Shell Rock, surrounded by her family. She was born May 11, 1921, in Grundy County, the daughter of Fred and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Willms Cirksena. Christine was born again on October 9, 1958 thru the truth revealed to her in Isaiah 44:22 "for I have redeemed thee." She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and received her LPN degree from Iowa City.

She married Robert B. Finley on September 1, 1944, in Davenport; he preceded her in death on November 11, 1992.

Christine worked as an LPN at Schoitz Hospital and Friendship Village for many years, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of Antioch Gospel Hall in Clarksville. She enjoyed reading her bible, sewing, jigsaw and word search puzzles, quilting, and spending time with family.

Survived by: two daughters, Pam (Mike) Pfeifer of Park Rapids, MN, Debra "Deb" (Gerry) Hobson of Shell Rock; a son, Robert "Bob" (Marcia) Finley of Masonville; 14 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a son, Gregory Finley; two brothers, Roy and Fred Cirksena, Jr.; two sisters, Vera Cook and Florence Beard; and a great-granddaughter, Kellie Finley.
