Cass Porter Jr. Jr.

Cass Porter, Jr., 71, of Waterloo, died Thursday, February 22, 2024, at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

He was born October 14, 1952, in Waterloo, son of Cass Sr., and Linnie (Taylor) Porter.

Cass worked for John Deere in the foundry for 18 years and also worked at Tyson's.

He is survived by two daughters, LaTonja Scott of Haltom City, TX, and Nya Bell of Denver, CO; a son, Conchetti Bell of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Yolanda Bell of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren, Shytreka (Kristian) Byrd, Shyanna Dickens, Ajanayh Bell, Kiyoanna Bell, Caliyah Bell, Traynell Bell, Dmani Bell, Marcus Bell, Derrick Bell, Michel-le Bell; 14 great-grandchildren, KJ, Kali, Kaden, Z, Kylier, Kulture, Adonis, Ta-Lonnie, Dicken, Duke, Derrick, Kamauri, Kalvin, and Armon; a sister, Anna Nichols of California; his partner of more than 50 years, Michelle Bell; and many nieces and nephews.

Cass was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cass Contrell Porter Bell; a brother, Lonnie B. Porter; and a sister, Maryann Mangum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th Street, with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo.
