Carol Ann Wilson

July 22, 1949 April 11, 2023

Carol Ann Wilson was born on July 22, 1949, in Boscobel, Wisconsin, to her parents Stanley and Ethel (Sherrick) Wood. She grew up in Wisconsin and as a young teen, Carol and her family moved to Iowa. She met the love of her life, Jerry Wilson, and the couple were married on August 19, 1967, in Waterloo. They were blessed to welcome two sons and a daughter into their family.

For most of Carol's working years, she stayed home to care for her family but throughout those years, she worked various odd jobs at Hinson's, John Deere, and the Home Shopping Network.

When Carol found free time, you could most likely catch her playing BINGO at Meskwaki Casino in Tama (also enjoying their Friday night buffet), playing cards with friends and family and cooking. She also enjoyed getting her nails done, bargain shopping, visiting the Amish shops, and taking weekend trips to Wisconsin to visit her extended family.

Carol was a very selfless person; always putting others before her own needs. She was strong, very matter of fact, and would tell you she was always right! Above all, her family was her pride and joy and spending time with them was the greatest gift to Carol. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, she leaves behind.

She is survived by her children Todd (Jill) Wilson of Cedar Falls, Danny Wilson of Waterloo, and April (Rory) McVay of Cedar Falls; daughter-in-law Diane Wilson; grandchildren Travis (Amanda Wagner) Wilson of Waterloo, WI, Cody (Alexis) Wilson, Nicholas (Taylor), both of Brooklyn, IA, Samantha (Tee) Middleton of Denver, IA and Isabella Wilson of Cedar Falls, Derick (Amanda) Wilson, Austin (Chelsie) Wilson, both of Des Moines, Aidan (Katelyn King) Wilson of Ames and Addison (Chance Beech) Wilson of LaPorte City, Ian (Emily) McVay of Waverly, Louis McVay of Waterloo, Trinity Ellsworth of Cedar Falls and Kaylee McVay of Clarkesville, IA; great-grandchildren Aria, Nora Sue, Easton, Payton, Graham, Lyndie, Scarlett, Paislee, Everleigh, Weston, Walker, Noah and Owen; Brother Stanley "Tim" (Carol) Wood of Waterloo. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry; granddaughter Alexa Marie Wilson; siblings Vivian, Ardith, Mildred, Donna, Janice, Barbara, Robert, Sharon, Karen and Raymond.
