Calvin R. Lamb, 76, of Waterloo, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Thursday, August 23, 2007, of cancer.

He was born February 28, 1931, in Waterloo, the son of Myron and Ruthe Blanchard Lamb. He graduated from West High School in 1949.

Calvin married Margaret “JoAnne” Carroll and they were later divorced. He married Marlys Sprague Moore on April 11, 1975, in Waterloo.

Calvin was an insurance salesman for Prudential and then Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Co. for many years and later worked at Kimball Ridge Grocery Store.

He was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church.

Calvin is survived by his wife Marlys of Waterloo, daughter Sidni Lamb and her domestic partner Cheryl Baker of Albuquerque, New Mexico, daughter Kim Rizner and her husband Keith of Peyton, Colorado, daughter Kathy Burkhart and her husband Bob of Des Moines, and son Dan and his wife Linda of Janesville. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, stepsons: Darwin Moore and his wife Pam of Oelwein, and Marty Moore and his wife Gayle of Diamond Head, Mississippi, and brother-in-law Ray Hemmer and his wife Maggie of Waterloo.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Kay Hemmer.
