Beverly J. Holmes, 79, of Hudson, Iowa, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born January 16, 1933, in Dike, Iowa, the daughter of Donal W. and Helen Ward Lotts.

She married John Franck “Jack” Holmes on October 23, 1954, in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Beverly graduated from Cedar Falls High School. She worked at Rath Packing in the keypunch department, at American Soybean in the mailroom and then was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of Community Church of Hudson.

Beverly was well known as a great baker–making sugar cookies and molasses cookies for friends and family.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Randall of Hudson; a daughter, Linda Sergeant and her husband Leslie of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Steven Sergeant of Waterloo and Jennifer Leeper and her husband Jeremy of Grundy Center; a great-granddaughter, Katelin Leeper of Grundy Center; and a brother, Albert Lotts and his wife Joan of Dike.
