Betty J. Strubel, 96 of La Porte City, died Tuesday, April 29, 2024, at the La Porte City Specialty Care. She was born August 24, 1927, in Fargo, ND, daughter of Bert and Hannah (Erbstoesser) Allen. Betty graduated from high school in Sheldon, ND.

She married William Artamenko; he preceded her in death in 1961; she married Dean Whitney, who preceded her in death; she married Albert Strubel on July 15, 1974, and he died June 28, 2017. Betty was a homemaker and also had worked at Allen Hospital for 5 years as a ward secretary and hostess. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waterloo. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Betty is survived by her children: Bill (Carla) Artamenko of Oroville, CA; Kathy (Mike) Strubel of La Porte City, Bob Artamenko of Waterloo. Four step daughters: Pam (Jerry) Zimmerlee of Michigan; Debra (Larry) Southworth of McKinney, TX; Karen (John) Olson of Milwaukee, WI; and Becky (Joe) Dorscheid of Sun Prairie, WI; 13 Grandchildren, 16 Step-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren, 9 Step-Great-Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands. Her son, Bert Whitney; Grandson, Billy Artamenko. Her parents, Her twin brother, Robert (Violet) Allen. Her stepmother, Mary Allen and stepbrother, Clinton Erbstoesser.

Celebration of Life will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park, (4140 Kimball Ave.) with a visitation 1 hour prior to service.

Inurnment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo
