Barbara Jean Eicher, 75, of Denver, Iowa, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at home. Barbara was born November 21, 1938 in Waterloo, daughter of C. Robert and Florence Dooley Walker.

She married William Henry Eicher on November 23, 1960, in Waterloo. He died March 14, 2006.

Barbara lived her life with joy, determination and an eternal optimism deeply rooted in faith. She was a support and inspiration to Henry in their shared business ventures throughout the years. Barbara had a great and enduring love for all animals, especially dogs. She was also a gifted gardener and quilter, and enjoyed knitting/crocheting, cooking and her Koi ponds. She served as an example to many in her strength and resilience, in the face of many obstacles.

She is survived by her three sons: Scott (Terry) of Denver, Todd (Laura) of Monticello, Wisconsin and Andrew (Cara) of Austin, Texas; a daughter: Melanie Hagen of Denver; seven grandchildren: Drew and Derek Eicher, Cara and Brooke Hagen, and Allison, Skylar and Emma Eicher. Brother, Alan (Marilyn) Walker, of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son in law, Marc Hagen.

Barbara was a loyal and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She gave her life to the Lord at a young age, and was steady and true to that calling. Her unconditional love for her family was evident to all whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
