Barbara A. Nielson, 87, of Cedar Falls, IA, died on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born on March 20, 1932 in Waterloo, IA, to Willis and Dorothy Dart Pritchard and graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1950.

Barbara married Donald L. "Don" Nielson on July 1, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua.

Barbara was a wonderful baker and cook; she took great joy in baking rhubarb pies. She loved everyone and always worried about others. She sewed for the local AMVETS. She was a member of Linden United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

She is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Dawn (Vince) Haislet’ Fairbank’ IA; sisters-in-law, Darlene Bristow’ Waterloo and Joan Nielson’ Independence’ IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Don Shields.
