Angela Kay Lavin

Angela Kay Lavin, 57, of Waterloo, passed away surrounded by her family at Unity Point-Allen Hospital on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Angela was born on May 4, 1968, in La Porte City, to John and Patricia (Eastman) Lavin. She graduated from La Porte City High School.

Angela worked for Unity Point as a Medical Administrative Specialist. Angela was a hard worker and devoted mother to her two children. Angela was a woman of unwavering love, grace, kindness, and always taking life on with a joyful laugh and smile. Her life was a testament to the power of family, resilience, and being thoughtful with each action. Angela was a gentle spirit and had touched many hearts while standing among us, along with everyone who knew her name. Her wisdom, strength, and diligence will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and valued by her family and community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Arlen Lavin, and sister, Rebecca Barnes.

Angela is survived by her children, DeShaun (Dijana Sabic) Thomas of Waterloo and Alexa Lavin of Coralville; sisters, Rosemary Jefferson and Mary Ann Lavin both of Waterloo and Jeanne Bradley; and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo. Inurnment to take place at Westview Cemetery in La Porte.
