William Armand Young, 83, of Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday, October 24th at Friendship Village Wellspring, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.

William was born on May 3, 1940, in Spring Valley, Illinois, the son of William Henry and Armida Johanna (Scarpellini) Young. He grew up in Spring Valley, graduating from high school in 1958. He furthered his education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, where he received his 4-year bachelor’s degree. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy, serving from 1958 to 1962. William worked as a Hospital Materials Manager in Waterloo for many years.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a time of sharing at 2:30 at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo, Iowa. Military honors will follow at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held privately.

He is survived by his children William Young of Lebanon, TN and Suzanne Bose of Woodland Hills, CA; many extended family and friends. William is preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Lynn Young.
