Wanda Louise Avis

Wanda L. (Olson) Avis was born on June 23, 1933, in Waterloo, Iowa. She was the first daughter of Bernhard & Kathleen Olson. Wanda went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2021; and she is now safely in the arms of Jesus. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Bud, first-born son, Jim, her parents, Three brothers James, Martin and Marvin Olson.

She was a devoted and loving wife to Bud for 60 years. She also was a dedicated Mother to five children, Jim, Jack, Jane, Jon, and Judy. Wanda had 8, Grandchildren and 19, Great, Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Wanda and Bud were in business together for 57 years as Roy Avis Construction Company, in Iowa and in Arizona. The Avis family made their home in Waterloo, Iowa, for 32 years and then in Tucson, Az. for 36 years. Wanda and Bud, had a large family of relatives, numerous friends, and many business acquaintances.

Wanda and Bud were active members at Bethel Baptist Church, where her Homegoing, Celebration will be on Friday June 25, 2021, at Bethel Baptist Church, 11040 E. Escalante Road, Tucson among her Family and Friends. Her final resting place will be beside her husband Bud, at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa, on June 29, 2021. A Gathering and short service will be held at the Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave. Waterloo Iowa

Wanda is survived by her children Jack, Jane, Jon, and Judy (LeGrande). Brother David Olson, and sisters Marilyn Price and Marva Glass.

While in Iowa, Wanda and Roy (Bud) Avis owned and operated Roy Avis Construction Company. The Family moved to Arizona in 1970, and purchased a redi-mix plant and restarted Roy Avis Construction. They taught their children the knowledge and skills in the Construction Industries.

Her loving family will greatly miss her, as will her friends. Our love goes with her to her eternal home in Heaven to be with Bud, and their Lord. Now they are both safe in the arms of Jesus.
