Stanley Gene Fager

December 8, 1948 January 1, 2024

Stanley "Stan" Gene Fager, 75, of Waterloo, went to heaven to be with Jesus on January 1, 2024, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on December 8, 1948, in Nelson, NE, the son of Harvey and Edna Ritchie Fager, and attended school in Superior, NE. After the death of his father at age 9, Stan was raised by his stepfather Virgil Hall and his mother. Stan married Juanita Cox on December 31, 1982, and they celebrated 41 years of marriage the day prior to his death. He worked as a crew lead with Municipal Pipe Tool in Hudson.

Stan was a strong man who wasn't afraid to show you he loved you. Every visit with his family began and ended with a hug and he was the best Grandpa anyone could ever wish for. He was devoted to God, Family and Country and all three were important to Stan. He loved bald eagles and even had a picture of one on his pickup. He was very productive, demonstrating a strong work ethic. His unselfish servant's heart made certain he met the needs of others ahead of his own. Stan enjoyed working outside, playing Rummy, Monopoly and poker, and fishing, especially trips with his sons to Minnesota.

Stan is survived by his wife, Juanita; sons Joe (Stacie) Fager of Dunkerton and their children Sarah, Andrew, Chelsea, Zach, Ben, Jacob and Hannah; Jeremy (Shaliah) Fager of New Hartford and their children Lainey, Lexie, and Logan; James (Kati) Fager of Lakeville, MN, and their children Malina, James Jr., Amirra and Gary; daughter Tami Fager, of Waterloo, and her children Donnie, Woody and Cynthya; 5 great-grandchildren, Lukas, David, Levi, Landon and Eve; siblings Mary (Richard) Thayer, Darrell (Nancy) Fager, Darwin (Marlene) Fager and Mike (Sharon) Fager, all of Omaha; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in-law, Don and Alice Cox.
